It also has rich culture that is preserved through the test of time. Here, we have listed five different tourist spots in Albania.
Home of more than 200 endemic species, Lake Ohrid was declared as World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 1979. This lake is one of the deepest and oldest lakes in Europe. Even though it is a famous site in Albania, most of its water is in Macedona's border. There are so many sites to explore in Lake Ohrid and it is a perfect place for tourists to see.
The largest lake in Southern Europe, Lake Skadar. Located on the border of montenegro and albania. It is knowm as one of the top bird's habitat across the Europe and it has been protected since 1983. A place that is so relaxing as you take pictures in its green environment and clear water that makes it a perfectly beautiful place to visit.
Located a few kilometers of Himarë in Southern Albania. Ranked fist among 15 undiscovered European destinations of 2014. The Albanian Government is planning to make this place a protected area together with Llamani Beach. This castle served as a soviet submarine base during the communist's regime in Albania. You can visit this place to see the rich culture of Albania with your own eyes!

This castle has a military museum that contains captured artillery and memorabilla of the communist resistance against the Germans. It also contains the captured air force plane of the United States that commemorates the struggle against the imperialist western powers.
Located in Northwestern Albania, near the City of Shkodër, you will find the castle of Rozafa. It is surrounded by the Bojana and Drin river. The castle is associated with an urban legend about the woman who was burried in the castle's foundation. The story says that there were once three brothers who worked all day to build the castles wall but it always fell down at night. They're met an old man and told them to sacrifice someone so the wall will stand firm and still. The three brothers hesitated at first but they've made a decision that whoever's wife that will bring them lunch the next day, she will be the one that will be burried. They've waited and the one that showed up is the youngest brother's wife , and her name is Rozafa.
