A nation in Southern Africa thas has beautiful beaches and marine parks. This underrated country has its own version of beauty. Mozambique has 250km stretch of coral islands in Quirimbas archipelago and a mangrove-covered Ibo Island that has its ruins as marks and traces of survial in the period of the rule of Portugal. Here we have enumerated five of the most beautiful places in Mozambique.

1. Quirimbas Islands


         Composed of 32 islands. It includes Ibo, Quirimba, Medjumbe, Metundo, Quisiva, Rolas Island, and Vizami Island that are all going to Tanzanian border. Here you can see the contrast of turquoise blue water and the deep blue water of the Indian Ocean. This paradise consists of corals, turtles, monrays, puffer fish, and Bumphead Parrotfish which makes this place a perfect site for the divers.

2. Gorongosa National Park


         A national park with a balanced biodiversity which makes this park so unique. It is also a home for different animals like hippos, lions, elephants, and birds. It also contains beautiful bodies of water like Lake Urema. Its landscape is so eye-catching because of its green environment and trees.

3. Island of Mozambique


          Located between Mozambique channel and Mossuril bay. It has a rich history and fascinating white sand beaches. There are two different islands named Goa and Sena. A bridge was built to join the island together with the mainland. Impressive architecture are observed in the area. Attractions in the Island includes the Palace and the Chapel of São Paulo.

4. Lake Malawi


         Also known as Lago Niassa. It is the 9th largest lake in the world and second deepest in Africa. It is located in between of Mozambique, Tanzania, and Malawi. What's interesting about this lake is  it's water because this lake is meromictic or its water layers don't mix. The permanent stratification of water and the oxic-anoxic boundary are controlled by small chemicals and other factors like Thermal Gradients.

5. Benguerra Island


        It is the second largest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago. Benguerra Island contains forests, savana, freshwater lakes and wetlands. Approximately 140 bird species lives in this area. This island has beautiful white sand beaches in it's purest form especially when it's viewed from above. A helicopter ride to this island gives you the amazing view of the island's rich nature and sparkling clear.
